The chances of finding survivors in Monday’s disappearance of Air France flight is getting slimmer. At the present moment, all passengers are presumed dead. We all wish that at all passengers on board survived, but the reality is that more than likely, no one on board survived.
An international search effort is on the way. The Brazilian army, which last had contact with the aircraft at 0133GMT sent five planes to aid in the search for the aircraft and survivors. The Brazilian Navy sent three ships to the area to search for survivors. The ships sent out by the Brazilian navy will not arrive at the suspected crash site until Tuesday night.
France has sent out one of its Air Force planes from west Africa and several ships. It is unclear from where the ships have been sent from and when they will arrive to the site. President Sarkozy said that Spain was also helping in the mission.
The French have also asked the United States to assist in the search by using its satellite data.
The crash zone has been identified to within 10 nautical miles according to Jean-Louis Borloo, senior French minister.
In France, psychologist were available for the relatives of the victims to meet with.
