Captain and a flight attendant identified

According to French cable news channel La Chaine Info (LCI), two crew members from Air France flight 447 have been identified. The two crew members are the captain, and an unnamed flight attendant.

According to the report, Air France CEO Pierr-Henri Gourgeon offered condolences on behalf of Air France to the families.

The captain of AF447 was Marc Dubois, 58. Marc had been flying jets for Air France for more than 20 years after joining the airline from rival French domestic carrier Air Inter in 1988, according to colleagues.

According to the Air France press release posted on June, 02, 2009, he was qualified on the Airbus A330/A340 in February, 2007, and had more than 11,000 flight hours, which included 1,700 on the Airbus A330/A340.

Air Inter was a Air France subsidiary.
It was the domestic arm of Air France until it was decided that both airlines would regroup under one single name to better face competition due to the opening of the French skies to other European carriers.
