Jane Deasy, one of the 3 Irish victims.

“The family of Dr. Jane Deasy has been informed that her remains have been positively identified among those found in the aftermath of the Air France flight AF447 crash. I reiterate my sincerest condolences to Dr. Deasy’s family, and to all those who lost loved ones in this terrible tragedy,” he said.
An Irish embassy official in Recife, Brazil is liaising with the Brazilian authorities for the repatriation of Dr. Deasy’s body.

Just for the others reading this, she was my neighbour. On the day she was identified (yesterday/or at least the day that it was let known to the press) was the day she was supposed to start her new job, along with another friend in the plane, Eithne Walls (Who had already started), at the Victoria Eye and Ear hospital in Dublin. Her family are thrilled to at least have the body, against the odds (51/228).
It sounds terrible to say it, but the family is lucky, they have something to bury unlike most others, unfortunately.
I just hope they can find all the bodies, for those who are still left in the dark, and that they can find the black boxes, however unlikely.
Hi DC, I agree. Having the body would give some sort of closure.
I can’t even begin to imagine what her family would be going through. And apparently the beacons for the black boxes will have died at some point today, battery will have run dead now. So we may never know for sure what happened, very sad.
I know this family, I have gotten to know one of the sisters of Jane through college. And words cannot express the weight that weighs heavily on our hearts.
To everyone aboard Air France- we will remember you always and in our hearts many footprints have been left in your memory. RIP
RIP Jane you have an extraordinary family and a never-ending love that will keep you alive in our hearts forever.
Any idea if they have recovered the bodies of the other two Irish doctors? Specifically, Dr. Walls? May they all rest in peace and my thoughts go out to the families.
kaastunne kõikidele lähedastele, kes kaotasid oma lähedased selles tragöödias
