Brazilians are demanding a criminal investigation

by Jonathan on August 26, 2009

The families of Brazilian passengers who lost their lives on the June 1 crash of Air France flight 447 are demanding a criminal investigation.

According to the government news service Agencia Brasil, the association that represents the victims’ relatives have filed a petition with the federal attorney general’s office requesting “an investigation against the possible culprits of the accident.”

The news was reported on Wednesday, and calls to Air France’s press office remained unanswered.

Good on them. It’s about time someone starts taking some responsibility.

Volle Kergen September 25, 2009 at 6:31 pm

Joanna: What proof do they have?

Because the black boxes haven’t been recovered, we don’t know much about what happened.

Someone needs to get the black boxes ASAP.

It is amazing how soon people forget a tragedy as collosal as AF447, including this website. What is happening to the investigation? Where is the purported third phase of search?

I am continuing to search for information on AF447 as often as possible, but can clearly make out this is fading out of people’s scanners with the search results I get on the web.

Criminal Investigation or not, we need information, all information obtained by the authorities so far. This has to be made public. Maybe, somebody in the crowd will make sense of it or get a plausible theory. Else, this is very frustrating!

Senthil, I agree with you.I’d like to keep in contact with someone who is really interested in that so we can share informations we find.If you facebook and wanna talk about it there, I’ll give you my contact.

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the lack of updates. It’s not that I’ve lost interest on this affair; I haven’t. It’s just that maintaining a site is not as easy as it looks. I still get all the “Air France” news alerts sent to my email, it’s just that there’s so many things going on right now, and finding the time to keep this site updated is hard.

If you’re interested, I can create accounts for you on the system and you can post news and stories related to the investigation. It can be a collaborative effort.

If you’re interested in helping to keep the site up to date, contact me through the contact form.

I’d love to do it, only problem is that I can hardly ever find even 2 lines of news a week..maybe I just don’t know where to look though.

Rami October 11, 2009 at 4:12 am

Hi guys,
you know I too was doing my best earlier in trying to follow up with updates. I used to contribute quite often to this site as a matter of fact, however there was a point in time where people started to attack each other, Air France and Airbus, rather than work together to assist each other in grievance and closure. As to Senthil’s comment, I know you mean well, however it is not fair to say that this website is like many others that have forgotten about the tragedy. I know that Jonathan has been doing his best to keep everyone updated regarding the tragedy. But as others have mentioned, it has become very hard to find news updates regarding this tragedy. To Claudio and Senthil, I too would like to get in contact with others interested in sharing information and helping each other out. I would be more than happy to provide you with an email address to contact me if you wish.

Rami sounds great.Let me know your contact and I’ll be glad to keep in touch!

Rami October 11, 2009 at 10:26 am

Hey Claudio I think my email should be under the ‘website’ tab in my name. If you notice my name is highlighted in this particular post, right click on it and view properties. Next to ‘Website:’ you should see my email. I am just sort of experimenting, so it may not work

claudio October 11, 2009 at 2:06 pm

I’m sorry but I cant find your email cuz I don’t see any tab…

Rami October 11, 2009 at 2:51 pm

you gotta go right click on my name, if you notice it is highlighted in blue. Right click on it and go to properties and it should be there. Or alternatively you can just double click on my name and it will open up another browser for you, the link you see in the address bar is my actual email address.

Claudio October 11, 2009 at 6:24 pm

That is what I tried also but it didn’t work, said the link could not be opened…

Claudio October 11, 2009 at 6:31 pm

Nevermind I think I found it now.It just worked once though cuz I tried 3 times, can’t really figure out why.Anyway I sent you a quick email answer back if you got it!

Senthil October 12, 2009 at 10:57 am

Rami/Jonathan, please do not get me wrong and I am not attacking you guys at all. I think you have done a great job putting this website together and forms a basis for information gathering. My thought was to do with the steep decline in people’s interest in this unfortunate incident. Also, I am frustrated with the lack of information on the Phase III activities that was supposedly planned by the authorities.

Claudio, I would be glad to share my facebook contact, but not sure how to keep it less public! Maybe, Rami could help send my mail id to you?

Rami October 12, 2009 at 8:02 pm

Yo, the work here is ALL Jonathan, if anything I am just a participant and contributor to the forums here, just like you. So all credit goes to Jonathan.
Senthil, yes you are more than welcome to contact me through my email. As I mentioned before, it is linked to my name here on my posts. So what you can do is just double click on my name as you can see it is highlighted in blue. This is going to open up another web-browser the link you see on the address bar of the web browser is my email address

Rami October 12, 2009 at 8:07 pm

oops, my bad, here Snethil, if you click on my name on THIS post it should disply my email address up on the address bar on a separate browser

Claudio October 13, 2009 at 12:44 pm

Yes contact Rami and then we will all talk together :D

Volle Kergen:
Planes of this size are designed to run on computers (regardless of the current controversy), and they do so thousands of times a day. As such, when such a tragedy occurs, it is clear something or someone was to blame. It is only logical. And maybe I’ve been misinformed, but Air France was warned about the need to upgrade parts of their Pitot tubes.

Janine October 19, 2009 at 7:57 am

As long as we have a situation like Air France vs Airbus we will never find the true answers. They are probably more content blaming each other than finding the real cause. If you were one of them, wouldn’t you do just that in case you are found to be to blame? With this fear, they are probably working together to keep things quiet.

I feel great sympathy for men, women, and children whom have lost their lives. There have been a series of plane/train/car accidents related to Andy Warhol’s Death and Destruction phase. Some people are obsessed by old movies and art. They try to make events come true in real life, hence increasing the value of the art work. The small plane crash on 3/22/09 in Montana was highly suspect. The Air France crash on 5/31/09 was suspicious. Within a very short period of time two other commericial airlines crashed. On 8/8/09 a small plane and helicopter collided over the Hudson. The helicopter/small plane crash in San Diego on 10/31/09 was barely covered by the media. There is a lot of pressure not to investigate for foul play. I hope just investigations are conducted in the future. Uncover the cover-up!

All aviation crash investigatuions should, by international law, be required to put out monthly bulletins. Millions of people travel every day and need to be reassured that despite there being a serious crash, the authorities are hard at work finding a cause and seeing to it that the same does not happen again. For too long airlines have taken their time rectifying known faults ( eg: Cargo doors, sticking landing gear ) putting more lives at risk. In the case of AF447 the public should by now have been notified of directives to assist in prevention of this type of air crash; eg better storm warnings, mandatory avoidance of such stormy areas, including turning back when signals such as those from AF447 are transmitted. Frankly, I consider electronics has taken over too much control. When it goes awry the software can rapidly put the aircraft into unsafe attitudes from which the pilots cannot recover.
