Christmas time is usually the perfect time to plan your next vacation. But what can be planned for 2021 and what do I have to pay attention to when booking?
Travel In 2021
One, too many Cheap Offers
If you are thinking about your next vacation, or if you are working for a company like towing services San Jose (that requires you to travel for some reason), you can currently get comparatively cheap offers. Because the travel industry is putting all its hopes in the summer of 2021 and is trying to get people to book now with large discount campaigns. Market leader Tui, for example, advertises savings of almost 60 percent. Competitor Detour promises the cheapest early bird prices ever.
This is because Hotels have so many free beds that they undercut their prices. The FTI group is increasingly trying to get families to book. The kids-free campaign will run there until the end of the year. This means that children up to the age of 14 travel for free.
Early booking: Attention, read the cancellation conditions carefully
If you book early, you should definitely pay attention to the cancellation conditions and read the small print. Many organizers have adjusted their cancellation conditions so that you can cancel or rebook free of charge. However, some of the regulations are misleading. For example: If you can only cancel until the middle of March, it does not help if you go on vacation in August.
The individual tariff conditions are very important and they almost always only apply to certain offers, which are then marked with an “x”. It’s very difficult for customers to see through this. It is therefore important to read everything carefully before you complete your booking.
Special corona insurance packages
Independent of Corona, health insurance abroad is definitely recommended. This will cover any treatment costs abroad and, if necessary, the return home. It is important to make sure that the tariff does not have a pandemic exclusion, i.e. that the insurance also takes over in the event of a Covid-19 disease. Travel cancellation insurance is also advisable for trips that are booked well in advance. Here, too, one should make sure that pandemics are not excluded in the contractual conditions.
It is also important to know: The travel cancellation insurance only pays if you cannot travel for certain reasons, for example, if you have lost your job, a close relative has died or you become ill yourself. She doesn’t pay if you just want to withdraw from a trip out of caution or if you have to be quarantined even though you are not sick. There have recently been special corona insurance packages for these cases. They make the trip more expensive but are advisable in the current situation.
Travel warnings remain a risk to vacation planning
It is not legally clear whether a trip to a risk area can be canceled free of charge if it was already a risk area at the time of booking. That’s why planning is a bit tricky. In principle, you can withdraw from a package tour free of charge due to unavoidable, extraordinary circumstances.
However, if the circumstances were exceptional at the time of booking and there was even a travel warning, then the tour operator could say that the customer knew and accepted the risk and therefore does not get out of the contract free of charge.
There is also a second problem: some travel insurances do not pay when you travel to a country for which a travel warning has been issued. If you book now, you take certain risks, you should be aware of that.
